THE B-I-B-L-E

One of Parker's favorite Sunday School songs is:

The B-I-B-L-E. Yes, that's the book for me. I stand alone on the Word of God. The B-I-B-L-E. And he is living up to the song. In his 3 months as a Royal Ranger at church, he has memorized the Scripture verse for each month.

1. "Jesus...went around doing good." Acts 10:38.

2. "Do not be afraid. God is with you." Joshua 1:9.

3. "Honor your father and your mother." Deuteronomy 5:16.

Not bad for a three year old, huh? Dad is pretty proud.

MY GOD IS SO BIG

There is a well known Christian praise choruse that goes:

"My God is so big, so strong and so mighty.

There's nothing my God cannot do."

Before my son Parker was born, we learned he would have some health struggles, such as Cerebral Palsy and development delay. So while he was still in the womb, I began singing a different version of that song to him.

"My son is so big, so strong and so mighty.

There's nothing my son cannot do."

It was my way of preparing him for life and letting him know that whatever his challenges were, I believed in him.

Now at the age of 3, I still sing that song to him. But he always corrects me. He doesn't want me to sing the "My son is so big" version. He wants to hear the "My God is so big" version. He is a young boy who wants to honor God. That does my heart good.

PALIN TOP FIVE

The top 5 best political moves by Gov. Sarah Palin. We love you Sarah.

1. Giving birth to Trig. -- Classy, godly. The right thing to do.
2. Her Republican convention speech. -- charisma oozed out of her. She had us eating out of her hands.
3. Her debate performance. -- "Can I call you Joe?"
4. Her opening speech of the campaign, on her first day with Sen. McCain. -- charming, funny, confident.
5. Her willingness to call out Obama for his "palling around with terrorists." Gutsy. And somebody needed to do it. Way to go Gov. Palin!

Chronicles Country

We desperately need to be a 2 Chronicles 7:14 nation. Don't know how to make that happen. But that is my desire.

"If my people, who are called by my name will humble themselves, search for me, pray and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their country." 2 Chronicles 7:14

THOUGHTS ON PALIN

So sorry to see Gov. Palin resign in Alaska. The demonic, mean-spirited attacks against her and her family would have driven me out of politics long ago. As best I can tell, she is a godly woman trying to stand up for what she believes in. And the Left must destroy that. My heart aches.

JAMMIN' WITH THE JO BROS.

In honor of Kevin Jonas' announced engagement, let us celebrate with my top 5 favorite Jonas Brothers songs of all time.

1. Burnin' Up. Awesome video. Great song.

2. Year 3000. The first Jo Bros song I really liked. Super catchy. Fun video.

3. That's Just the Way We Roll. Great rock 'n roll fun.

4. Paranoid. Silly but catchy song. The rhyming scheme really works for me.

5. A Little Bit Longer. This is Nick Jonas' song about his diabetes and I love his reference to "kingdom come."
