DRIVE BY KISSES

I spend a lot of time for my job in my car. At least once a week I find myself making a delivery or picking up a client in the neighborhood where my wife works. So I have developed a romantic little gesture that she loves. We call it the Drive By Kiss. Whenever I am in her neck of the woods, I call her and give her 5 minutes notice. Then I call again when I make it to the parking lot. She meets me out front of her office building, and the makeout session begins. OK, it's not quite that hot and heavy. But it is a nice way to add a little pizazz and romance to your day. And bring a smile to your wife's face. Husbands, if you have the ability to work drive by kisses into your routine, believe me, it pays dividends.

FRIDAY FAMILY FILM

Back in December I wrote that I took Parker to his first movie, "Beverly Hills Chihuahua." He liked it, laughed at the silly dogs. But we didn't make it through the whole film. Parker got restless and we had to leave early. Well, the movie came out on DVD and we purchased it this week to add it to Mrs. MM's massive DVD collection. So last night we had our first Friday family film night. And daddy got to see the ending of the movie. It is a cute film. Critics who dis the flick are missing the point. It is a family film, intended to make kids laugh and smile. And it easily achieves that goal. It doesn't need to accomplish anything else. So lighten up, already. And if you need a good Friday family film, the MM family recommends "Beverly Hills Chihuahua."

Gunshots fired in MM Family Yard

There's a headline I never thought I'd see. But it happened. The sheriff's deputy just left our home. Thank God we are all safe. 5 gunshots woke us up. Parker slept through the whole thing. When I woke up I immediately looked out the window and saw 2 men running down the street, as if they were fleeing the gunshots. The sheriff's deputy said they believe someone was hit. Again, thank God, it was not someone in our household. Many sheriff cars are blocking off our street. The yellow caution tape was hanging from the tree in our yard. Very surreal. I am having a hard time winding down from it.
